Hello:

I now have platy fry to feed, just within the last day or so, but how soon do I start feeding them? Do they come with built in food already in them? I have flakes as well as brine shrimp, but I know the brine shrimp would be wasted if I feed them. They are in thier own tank and filter set up.

Platy fry are large enough to eat brine shrimp, not sure what you mean by "the brine shrimp would be wasted if I feed them."

The platy can also eat crushed flake food from birth.

Hello again:

I might elaborate on 'brine shrimp' seeing I use the adult version of this food, I would have to crush some or buy the 'brine shrimp' for fry which I have seen. Just that I am new at taking care of fry, and I dont want to over feed them.

Adult sized brine shrimp have little nutritional value, but even newborn platy fry can consume them. You'd be better off with a crushed commercially prepared flake food, in my opinion.
