Nocturnal plecos?

I got 2 plecos for my 47g a couple days ago, and they only come out of their cave at night. They don't seem to be eating the aglae either. Is this normal?

what kind of pleco are they... I thought all plecos are really nocturnal but if you feed them during the day they can be "trained" to come out.... some plecos dont eat algae, so what kind do you have.

I'm not sure what kind they are, but one is out and appears to be eating algae. Mystery solved

Pleco Pigs

I got about 8 plecos 4 in each tank & there out night & day eating they always seem to be sucking on something ..but sometimes in the smaller tank they hide if they see me right there checking them out, but I've only had them a couple of weeks 3wks I think 2 are peppermint or star Plecos & 6 are Fantailed but the guy at the shop calls them Bristlenose ..But there good for looking after your tank they keep everything clean!!*twirlysmi

How big are your tanks? What other fish do you have? I would love to have a bunch of plecos! Imagine the size of the tank I would need!

Plecos scare me since so many are misnamed at pet stores. Afraid i'll get something that grows a foot long.
