My first snail

I have a 10G feeder tank stocked with goldfish. The first 2 weeks after getting a dozen new fish the alge buildup is going on strong. Decided to get an alge eater instead of scrubbing and filtering the stuff, so i got a golden mystery snail. He has done well the first 2 days but i'm wondering if the alge in the tank will be enough to keep him happy or will i need to get him alge wafers? He is about 1" across.

I supplement my ramshorn each day. When I come arrive in the morning I turn on the light and feed the fish. Every day the snail goes up the front of the tank to be fed. The snail "knows" that when the light comes on he is to go to the top of the tank to be personally fed.

The black mystery in my tank just scavanges the bottom for reminders of flakes. It'll be fine. You could give it a floating cucumber at night when the light is off. It'll love it.
