my bettas fins havn't grown

I got my betta 5 months ago and I have no idea how long it was sitting at the fish store. It's like has deadends on it's fins and is this rot or can I get medicine for this. Nothing trys to nip it's fins without losing some of thiers. can someone tell me what this is?

Try some melafix.. thats the only thing i can think of..

what size tank is the betta in?

If the fins are just short than perhaps you got a female.

it's not a female it's fins were really long before and i think it has fin rot it's in a 40g hex
