lone guppy

hi there!! i'm a newbie and was wondering if guppies should be kept in groups because i have a 55gl tank that has 7 zebra danios, 1 pearl danio, 2 platies and 1 female guppy. she annoys the crud out of the danios by always following them around and hanging around with them. she gets chased off but she still comes back! should i add more guppies? and if so should i get males or females and how many more should i get?( sorry for all the Q's lol)

guppies aren't schooling fish, but like to be in groups. If you WANT guppy fry, make sure the ratio of male guppies to females is 1:2 or even 1:3, otherwise the male will harass the female. If you DO NOT want fry, then just get a couple more females.
