live rock and sand

ok i tried to setup a saltwater tank 55 gallon and for some reason it failed. so i dismantked it and the rock and sand has been dry for a few years. do i need to buy new rock and sand or will it be ok to use the old stuff

You can reuse the old stuff. It will not have any live growth left in it but, you can just buy a few pounds of live rock from the fish store and it will seed to the other rock fairly quick. I was on the saltwater roller coaster for years until I found this info about a year ago. Now my salt is a great accomplishment thanks to the Algae Turf Scrubber info.
