hey all! i was daydreaming today, when the thought occurred to me that nobody's ever asked (as far as i know) if it's possible to actually BUILD a fish tank from scratch? i'm not really planning on doing it but i was interested to see if it would be possible?
Sure, most are glass with silicone sealer. I've replaced broken sides before, and have made a few small custom sized tanks. It's a pain in the hiney in my opinion, and the sealer STINKS!
do a google search for DIY Plywood aquarium, you can find some amazing build threads on them. my next tank will be one that i build into the wall and the only thing you could see anyways is the front glass..
