Is my pregnant platy ready to give birth?

I've had this female platy for a couple months and it's been looking pregnant for a while (white belly) but it's not to the point of a bulging belly. However, since a day or two ago I noticed that she's been hiding in one of the cave decorations and rarely comes out, and when she does come out, the male platy will start to chase her. I've read that her hiding and the male chasing her could be signs that she's going to give birth soon, but she really doesn't look that pregnant to me. I went ahead and put her in a breeder trap to be safe... but the male still won't leave her alone. He keeps hanging around the breeder trap.

I'm entirely new to this so I'm not really sure what to do. Is my platy going to give birth soon or not?

How long has the tank been set up? Has the nitrogen cycle been completed?

Keeping a pregnant fish in a breeder trap is usually very stressful. It is better to provide lots of cover for the fry if you plan to raise them.

When platies are pregent they should look "boxy" towards the end of them being pregent, their stomach squares out, and some times depending on the fishes color, you can see the eyes of the fry towards the back of her belly, platies tend to have fry once a month, and can store the sperm from a male for 6 months, so she can have 6 sets of babys without a male even in the tank!
