How to snag a ghost shrimp?

I've been watching my male guppy's tail, and I've deduced its my ghost shrimp. That means I need to get them out of my tank and give them back to the LFS, but I have no idea how to catch them. I can hardly ever find them anyways, and when I do they dart away pretty quickly. Will one of those water bottle traps work on shrimp, or is there some other secret to trapping them?

Also, once I remove the ghost shrimp, my guppy's tail will grow back, right? Do I need to treat it with anything to help him out?

As an update, with diligence I managed to catch two with the net. I'll just have to wait around for the third to show himself. Disregard this whole post.

Well glad you caught them! And yes GS are actually pretty aggressive just like the red nosed shrimp and amano (and a few others), so makes sense how that would happen :(

And your guppies tail will grow back as long as it didn't damage it too far up to the body, that's the boat my betta is in -- very long process it's been with him.

Good luck with your guppy!
