I read/hear different things every where I go. Some people say the more the better, some say only as many as your skimmer runs. So my skimmer is going to be small, I have a 40 gal breeder tank and I'm thinking about getting it drilled. The skimmer cycles 250 GPH, Ive seen tanks with 800+ GPH draining through their sumps. So what is the true answer?
I kind of lean towards less than 250 GPH. It makes the most sense to me, anything past that is just kind of a waste and added noise.
