Hello!

I have some wonderful Star Wars action figures that I would love to use as decorations in my aquarium and am looking for advice/input from other people on how to look up a particular toy's type of plastic or a good coating.

The most complete list of aquarium safe plastics I've found is here:

I have thus far been unsuccessful in locating the types of plastics these action figures were made from, so I thought I would coat them just to be on the safe side. My pet store's aquarium enthusiast said that he uses Krylon Fusion Clear Gloss for his decorations, however i've learned that the manufacturer has replaced this product with Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic/Gloss Cover Maxx. I used this on some of the figures but it doesn't look like it will hold up that well to me in the aquarium.

Has anyone used this product? Does anyone have advice on any other products?

Thank you!

And, incase it is relevant to anyone else, I finally heard back from the company that made these particular toys:

"Thank you for contacting Hasbro regarding our Star Wars figures.

Our figures, new and old are made of PVC. We don't recommend placing these figures in an aquarium. They were not designed for this purpose.

Again, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to reach out to us."
