Help scaleless fish!!!

I have four fancy goldfish and one hillstream loach. Two of the fancy goldfish got Ill I gave them salt baths and made full recovery. Now my hillstream loach has cotton like growths all over his body and he is hiding. Usually he is In the air stone flow . Can I add salt to the tank at half the dose as I know they are sensitive???

The only time I may use salt is for ich treament. It's mostly an irritant to fish, causing them increase their slime coat. What size tank are your fish in? Do you do weekly water changes? What are your readings in PPM for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? 9 out of 10 of the ailments I've dealt with were handled with nothing more than big water changes often. Fresh water will do nothing but help, unless it's been a severely neglected thank, then you've got to go slow.
