Hello! Newbee here getting back into freshwater tropical fish after a looooong time away. I'll be setting up a 29gal tank with my kids once I get all my gear in order.

I'm kind of embarrassed of how I treated my fish in the past.. Way before the internet era!! WOW how things have changed from ~25yrs ago. I never heard of "fishless cycling" and whatnot until a week or so ago when I started researching. Years ago it was dechlorinate, wait a few days and add a few fish at a time.. and this was per fish store owners!!!

Looking forward to participating here.

It's nice to have the improvements to the hobby and the ease of information that we have nowadays. Much easier on the fish too, and better lifespans as a result.

A 29g is a nice size, be careful though or you'll be setting up a few more tanks soon... having limited space/funds helps control the addiction but there's always another fish you want to try...
