can i use a 25 watt heater for my acrylic 5 gallon tank?
i heard it could melt if it got too hot so i dont kno wat to do, and in the michigan can get really cold.
At 5w per gal, you should be fine even for all tank types. Try it out (fishless), see if the side of the tank wall gets discolored or distorted, but I doubt it.
as long as the heater is not touching the side of your tank (even then i dont think it would matter) i think you will be fine.
is your heater one of the kinds that "clips" to the back of the tank and hangs down into the water? if so what they mean by "nonsubmersible" is that you cant put the WHOLE unit into the water.

Hey Davy we could rent our heaters to people in the north during are 5 month summer since we don't need them, make money and buy more tanks. Its a flawless plan
