I just brought home my electric blue crayfish today. I left him in my room for dinner and when i came back I thought he was dead! I saw that he just molted his shell. Do I just get rid of his old shell? Or what? I researched him before I purchased it but there is very little on that. First invert! Thanks if you can help!

Leave his shell with him. They eat the old shell to get back all the nutrients and calcium in it. If you remove it he could die due to losing out on it. Important to disturb him as little as possible and be very gentle as his new shell will be soft.

after molting they like their privacy, so i would mqke sure you have a littlecave or a planted area for it to feel secure in. and def leave it in there, molting a good sign i cant remember off the top of my head but i beleive it means good water quality and that its comfortable. dont quote me o it though
