Development of babies

I have another quick question. Maybe stupid question, but the 5 babies I recently scooped up and put into breeding net are still almost a white colour (one seems a bit darker, like grey, and one has a black tail). I was sure these came from my black lyretail molly that i bought, but do they take a while to go black? Plus female "still" has a large looking belly (maybe the dalmations i bought a few days after mollies had the babies, but neither of those females even looked pregnant?)

My red swordtail babies were pale yellow at the beginning. Then they became kind of orange. Eventually, they all become red. I guess only time will tell what they really are.

Depending upon what male fertilized them, many livebearers carry genes for other colors besides their own. So they may spawn offspring of a wide variety of color. As Coyote als said, the colors may change as the fish get older.
