Cichlid Fry!

This month my African cichlids had 18 little babies. In the tank I have two cichlids, the mother, and who I'm assuming is the father. Since the mom is a mouth brooder, do I need to separate the babies, or will they be fine? Will the father eat them? Thanks!

Yep, father will eat them. Their does exist some species of cichlids in which both parents will care for young but none from Africa that I can remember. Based on your sig African cichlids need at least 55g, not 20.

What kind are they?

Neolamprologus multifasciatus would be great for a 20 gallon.

Yep, shell dwellers would be about it. They're a bit hard to come by I have found.
