Black Moor.

Hi All.

Just a quick question about Black moors.

i love these little guys. I am thinking of keeping one and I wondering what is the smallest size tank you guys would recomend? I hate saying that but space is an issue. Is a power filter also totally needed even with 1-2 day water changes?

Anything else I should know bout these fish?

Black Moors are just like any other fancy Goldfish. They need at least 20gs for the first fish and then 10g per additional fish. They do need a power filter and sometimes its best to go double the actual size needed(if its a 20g get a filter for a 40g). They are messy fish so wc's every day or every other day is best.

ive also heard that their eyes are sensative...i could be wrong tho. but im pretty sure that they are.
they are super cute, by far my fav goldie

Well they, at least IME, had the worst vision. I liked to keep it moderately shaded with lots of fake plants and a cave(when young) for them. They are more active this way.

Yeah I had made the mistake of 2 blackmoors in a 10g. Although they lived for three years and got up to about 5 in a half inches.

LOve the Black moors! They are my fav fish9next to bettas of course)

I had a black and a goldie in a 5 gal like years ago they did well.
