I have recently bought a Ghost Knife from my Pet Shop.
Its small now, about 4 inches and is in a ten gallon tank. Does any one know what fish it will get along with and how fast it grows?

There are a couple of links I found using www.google.com sounds like a fish that is relatively difficult to keep and gets very large (sites say 20-24 inches). My guess is that he will outgrow the 10G in a couple of months. They do well on live food. They need a place to hide during the day, as they are noctournal.

Listen to froggy. A black ghost will hit 20", and with the right diet will hit it relatively quickly - 18-30 months. make sure you use low lighting and even if he has hiding places. they are not generally aggressive, and should do well with other similar sized peacful fish.
For food try earthworms - cut up if need be, cheap and plentyful!

The one's I've had loved the freeze-dried tubifex worm cubes you can get from Wardly. The trick is to feed the ghost towards the evening with dim tank lighs. I would press the cube to the side of the PCV pipe they were hiding in, and make it stick. After a little bit they would tear into it with relish.

I have 2 of them in a 55 Gal with 4 Golden Gourami, 3 Black Widow, 2 Clown Loach and 2 plecos. They seems to get along fine. I bought them when they are about 2 inches, and now it is around 6 or 7. I had them for about 6 months. The Black Ghost like frozen Blood Worms the most, but will also take pallets.
