Wow, they look a lot bigger against the rocks and plants than they seem against the gravel. Their fins look like they have a neat curvy motion (in the first senegalus pic). You've got great looking healthy plants in all your pics, too.

Right now all of my medium-sized (7 - 9 inch) bichirs are in 20 gallon Long tanks....but those are only temporary grow-outs. A Polypterus senegalus or one of the other smallish bichirs (grow to about 12 inches) could be kept in a 45-55 gallon tank for life.
