AQUA CLEAR MINI

Anyone got one of these filters?
cause its going into my room and i wanted to know if it was noisy and barable????????
Its going in a standard 2 foot tank.
Aprox 50 Litres.
I'm planning on getting:

2 Dwarf Gouramin
6 Neon Tetras
2-3 Corydora Catfish (Corydoras barbatus)


Also what are the advantages of hang on filters over internal filters?
Cause i'm really stumped with wheather i should get Internal or Hangon.

I love aqua clear mini filters!!! They are so quiet and they have such a low maintanence level. What i do is put in the new filter media every two months.

New filter media every two months sounds very dodgy to me.
If you totally replace the media you will be constantly fighting with New Tank Syndrome, the filter will never be cycled properly. 8)

when i change my fliter media i put another mini in when it has the bacteria then i swap the filters and im done ;D

They usually cost about 13-20 $$$
and i usually change the media about every 5-6 months.

I had one ..sold it with my 20 gallon. They are quiet and have 2 spaces in them for the foam. Just use two foam pads and rotate them.

bottom pad...rinse with a water change, put the top pad on the bottom..the rinsed pad on top. repeat as needed.
