Apple Snails

#1
Hello all!

I've had cold-water aquariums off and on throughout my life. I just got a small, 1.5 gallon desk size tank, mainly just to hear the water run while I work.

It seems way too small to put any actual fish in, so I bought a pair of small (1/4 inch across) apple snails. These are my first snails. I've read basic care and tips online but does anyone have any tips or tricks for making snails thrive?

You won't have 2 million snails - if they breed, they will leave large egg clumps just above the water line which are easy to remove (and you should remove them, or you really will have 2 million!).

Apple snails will leave the tank if it doesn't have a cover, so make sure it is fitted securely.

They'll like most commercial fish foods, as Fishman said, and also fresh washed veggies.

They'll appreciate weekly or biweekly water changes, with dechlorinated water.

applesnail.net is a great source of info :)

Good luck! Your work tank sounds adorable xP
