I was thinking of getting two dwarf gouramis for a 10 gallon. if I do get them should I get one male one female? or could I put two males in there? arent they a distant cousin of betta's thus being very territorial? and are they prone to verious diseases? and also, if I cant get two could I have one gouramis and some corys all in the same tank? would the gourami be happy alone?

Thanks to whom ever can answer any or all of the above questions

I just (yesterday) moved two male dwarfs into a ten gallon...read my post "dwarfs in a 10gal" for some more opinions...if you hold off a couple days I will let you know how they do...so far, so good though...

I had two, a male and a female, in a 29 gallon. They fought constantly and wound up dying after about two months. It was a newbie mistake not to move one of them sooner...
But they were sweet little fish, I'd certainly reccomend them.
If I were you I would get one gourami and some little cories; I don't think they will bother each other. They're definitely territorial against other gouramis though.

HTH. :)
