Acting funny

My betta is acting different. Ususally he's swimming around the tank, begging for food and doing little dances when i walk up to the bowl. Today he's been lurking in one corner and is blowing bubbles, but not building a nest. Occasionally he'll swim around, but it's very jerky. I just did a water change yesterday. The snail isn't effected (if that matters any). I tried to feed him, but he ignored the food. Whats wrong?

how old is he? if he is more than 2 yrs then he is probably past his prime and just getting old, if not it may be a parasite or something.

I don't know how old he is. I've had him for...just over two-three weeks? There aren't any marks on him,not bloated, completely normal looking.

Assuming your water parameters are good, I'd say give it another day or so, and see what happens. You may try something different for food as well, My female betta gets picky about her food sometimes, I just feed her something else (shrimp, worms etc.), and usually she eats it. Just a thought.

Also, is the tank heated or is your house nice and warm? If they get too cold, they get really sluggish but perk back up when warmer.

the temp hasn't changed. it's been the same since i brought him home.

what size tank is he in?

he's in a one gal. i'm planning on upgrading to a five after semester ends

do you have a heater? if not, it's impossible to say the temp hasn't changed, because...temperature changes continously, even indoors. bettas do need heated water.
