I have a 10 gallon tank that I'm currently using for platy fry when they are strong enough to be moved from the breeder net to a tank. I was wondering if I can take my tank and put a divider in it and use the other 5 gallons to raise a male betta. I know how to ensure the frys safety and I'm giving away the fry once they are 2-3 months old.

Nevermind. I told myself that I already have 8 fish with babies coming soon and that I should stop hoarding fish!! Lol!! I'll use the 10 gallon tank as a pure fry tank. Of course, I might get some more fish to go in there as a community though. Lol!! I can move my 5 Neon Tetras into the fry tank after they are full grown, then get some Bleeding Heart Tetras to go into my main 10 gallon community tank. Later I'll post some pictures of my Neons to ask what genders they are. I know that I have at least 3 females and 1 male. There's just one that's so small but so plump that it's hard to sex.
