    What is it??

Thanks for the reply. I've been told it might be a planaria, so I've taken measures to sort that out too just in case. I got the driftwood from my lfs and boiled it, baked it and scrubbed it several times over the course of a week. So I think hitchhikers is unlikely. I haven't seen the invader...

    What is it??

Hi all, could really use your help and advice! I was just giving my freshwater tropicals some food and saw a little grey leech type creature in my gravel substrate!! I didn't see the whole thing but I'm guessing it was around 2cm long or so. Any ideas on what it is and how/if I should get rid...

    Vegetable treats?

Thanks, I've heard of using peas from several people. I'll see what mine do with them the next time I have some.

    Vegetable treats?

Thank you, I'll try a little bit of cucumber the next time I have some in, but I don't hold out much hope that they will go for it.

    Vegetable treats?

Hi all, I was wondering if there are any small vegetables I would be able to cut and and give to my fish as a treat? At the moment I have three male guppies, one neon tetra (his buddies passed away) two julii catfish and two kuhli loaches. On a side note, the guppies seem to harass eachother...

    Little loachy and fatty.

Third and significantly smaller kuhli loach passed a couple of days ago - happily swimming around the tank and zipping about before settling down again. Checked on him to see him belly up and twitching. Isolated him and he didn't recover :( Found flame tailed guppy belly up on the bottom of the...

Big tetra - swim in peace!

So after a few days of my larger tetra hiding away and then being unseen completely, I decided to have q look around and rearrange the tank at the same time. Found him on the bottom of the tank next to a decoration :( no idea what killed him but no sign of disease as far as I could tell. You...

    What's up with my tetra?

Thank you :( Yeah, we're keeping an eye on them all to see if anything else develops. The other two tetras look okay at the moment, but they're being carefully watched.

    Newbies.

The huge chain store in the UK has a very knowledgeable staff, so it's helpful to ask them things, but obviously I do my research elsewhere too. Fish are absolutely fine now, but still doing checks to keep things consistent, thanks.

    Bye bye "medium tetra"

He got tetra disease, boo. Bit unnerving being first time fishy parents, but the others look healthy. May you swim in peace little one!!!

    What's up with my tetra?

That was it, thanks. He's been euthanised :/

    What's up with my tetra?

We've been watching them quite closely, and we've only spotted the dot today, but tetra looked discoloured yesterday, possibly the day before but we're only sure of it today. Swimming and eating normally, just a bit concerned. He's also the biggest of the three. The smaller one hides a lot, but...

    What's up with my tetra?

Hi all, I was wondering if any of you had any ideas or advice on what might be the problem with my tetra? It's only one out of the three that is affected, has lost some colouration, looks a little lumpy and I have spotted one white spot on its tail..really hoping it's not ick. I have only...

    What is this?

The longer trailing part was nowhere to be seen yesterday, just leaving the bottom bit. And now there's nothing. So I have no idea, but I guess it's not there to worry over now.

    Newbies.

Thank you! I believe so, I tested the nitrogen and ph levels more than once before introducing any fish, and it was all reading at the right levels. Plan of action is to do another test tomorrow or Monday to check again, and do a partial water change just to keep things fresh. Off to see the...

    A Few ( i mean a ton ) Pics of the Fishies!!

Lovely set of photos, cute fish!

    Newbies.

Thanks, I'll look into getting some sorted. There are hiding places for them, but I think they were just a bit freaked out by being in a new environment. The tanks at the store had nothing but fish in them. Now they've been returned to the main tank compartment they have found places to hide...

    Thank you!

    What is this?

Thanks for linking! That would make sense in a salt water. I don't want to disturb it in case it's something to do with the fish, but I'm also tempted to remove it purely because I don't know what it is. My boyfriend thinks we should just take it out. Yes! They kept trying to get back there...

    New tank - stocking.

Okay, thank you. I wasn't going to mix the siamese and the guppies for that exact reason. I think it's best to go with guppies for now!
