morayeel

Description: Compatibility: Not Reef Safe
Maximum Size: 20 inches
Minimum Tank Size: 60 gallon
Temperature: 78-82F
Diet: Frozen/Live Food
Level of care: Medium/Hard
General Notes: Usually Moray eels are about 8-10 inches long when sold into the aquarium hobby however, certain species can attain sizes up to 9 feet!(proper research should be done to determine the ultimate size of a prospective Moray before purchase). They are very colorful with interesting patterns. They usually hang out in their holes with their heads poking out. Their mouths gape as they respire showing off their long teeth which is often mistaken as a sign of aggression. As with all eels be sure the top of the aquarium is well sealed as eels will find their way out of the aquarium.
