mandarindragonet

Description: Compatibility: Reef Safe
Maximum Size: 3-4 inches
Minimum Tank Size: 50 gallon
Temperature: 78-82F
Diet: Picky Eater of Pods. Make sure to have an established tank
Level of care: Medium/Hard
General Notes: Found in the Southwest Pacific, the Mandarin Dragonet, commonly called a goby, is a small and beautiful fish responsible for enticing many into the world of marine aquaria. Their small size is deceptive though, as this fish should only be introduced into an established tank with at least 75 to 150lbs of live rock per individual, as they naturally live on a diet of amphipods and copepods. Many will take to brine shrimp, but this only offers false hope, as it will still slowly die of starvation. This fish does well in a reef setting, and isn't hard to keep if an adequte food source can be maintained.
