zebradanio

Description: Compatibility: Peaceful, community, schooling fish...have been known to be fin nippers so best not to keep with slow moving/long finned fish.
Maximum Size: 2 inches
Minimum Tank Size: 10G
Temperature: 74-80F
Diet: Will eat ANYTHING! (within reason)
Level of care: Very easy, great beginner fish.
General Notes: Zebra Danios are very active and energetic schooling fish. This fish has a base color of silver or gold, strikingly marked by a number of bright blue or purple horizontal lines running from head to tail. This pattern is repeated in the anal and caudal fins the dorsal area is yellowish olive. Males are generally slimmer and slightly smaller than the females.

Pros: Exciting and fun to watch, hardy
Cons: might annoy/stress out some slower fish

I LOVE Zebra danios...they\'re so much fun to watch. Something great about a fish that is so versatile and just lives to play tag. Great beginner\'s fish too! Be sure to keep them in a group of at least three...prefer 6+.

Pros: entertaining to watch
Cons: They have a tendency to get to the food faster than some of my other fish

I absolutely love Zebra Danios!! Don\'t get me wrong, I adore my Mollies, but Danios are so much fun!! They remind me allot of my ADHD husand =/
I can watch them for hours. And they get along fantastic with my Mollies & Swordtails.

Pros: Hardy, entertaining.
Cons: Mean fin-nipping fish who chase other small fish.

These are the perfect fish to start a tank. I still have one that is three years old. He successfully cycled my tank with flying colors. BUT he can be quite a little bugger to the other fish, particularly my rasboras. It\'s a good thing these fish are tiny, because if they were large they probably wouldn\'t make a decent community fish; and they probably wouldn\'t make very good musicians either. That is why I didn\'t give them any musical names like Coltrane or Miles. Instead I named them all Chris. Why? Because I can\'t tell the sexes apart and I figured Chris or Pat would be cool. But don\'t use Pat, because then your friends will make fun of you and your fish. Do you really want them standing around your tank saying, \"\'What\'s that? It\'s Pat.\'?\"

Pros: Peaceful and do no harm to other fish
Cons: not that colorful....

I have four longfins and they still school. They make excellent tankmates to any peaceful fish.

Pros: Active, hardy, cheap, nice-looking
Cons: Can be nippy, although they only nip eachother IME

I have 6 of these lovely long-finned zebra danios and they're great. I havent had a bad experience with them yet. They make the tank look more active. Swimming so fast with those long and flowing fins and those nice looking stripes looks so wonderful. These fish get along great with my neons, cardinals, corys, angels, and livebearers. With a group of 6+, these are a great addition to any tank.

Pros: cheap, great colors, playful
Cons: great jumpers

They need a covered tank. They will jump out and kill themselves. Like to school and look great as a school. Swim back and forth and makes a great stress reliever for those days you wish never happened.

Pros: Fun fish to watch, very active.
Cons: Can be a bit nippy, but not bad when in schools

I've had Danios for a little while now, very entertaining, they were a bit nippy to my slow moving Betta though. But all-in-all a fun hardy fish.

Pros: fun to watch, very easy to care for
Cons: Eat a lot of food.. could move too fast for slower fish

zebra danios are pretty cool, it is awesome to watch them as they like to play tag a lot.. one thing about them though is that since they swim up top they get to the food first and they eat a lot.. but once your other tank mates are used to the water they will learn when feeding time is and come right up there also so its not too much of a problem..
