Description: Compatibility: Species only tank
Maximum Size: 2-4 Inches
Minimum Tank Size: 5-10 gallons
Temperature: 78-82F
Diet: Live hermits and crabs
Level of care: Easy
General Notes: The mantis shrimp is a very colorful invert that is easy to care for. They are very hardy but need consistant water changes. They are perfect for a nano reef, and do not harm corals. This genus of mantises prefer to eat small hermits and crabs. Do not keep this animal with fish. Mantis shrimp need plenty of rocks with holes in them to make their homes. If you cannot provide a rock with a hole that the mantis can fit in, a piece of PVC pipe is a good alternative.

Pros: Smart, colorful, coll predator
Cons: needs a species tank

Good pet if you are willing to set up a small 5 gallon tank for one.
