General Notes: The Naso Tang, also known as the Tri Color Tang, or Lipstick Tang, is a great tang choice for even less expirienced aquarists with larger sized tanks. The "Blonde naso", once considered a color variety of N. lituratus, is now classified as a different species alltogether, Naso elegans. The Blonde species is a Red Sea native, whereas N. lituratus hails from the Pacific. N. elegans comprises the same over all color of N. lituratus but with a bright yellow or orange dorsal fin (shown in picture). Both are similar in husbandry. Some larger male specimens have long streamers on the tail fin, which can increase the desirability and worth of the fish by a considerable amount. They have potential to attain lengths of up to 18" but most individuals in captivity do not reach the top threshold of adult size. More than one per tank isn't reccomended. When mantaining more than one tang in the same aquarium it is best to add simultaneously.
