Description:
|
Compatibility: Community
Maximum Size: 5-7 in
Minimum Tank Size: 55 gallons
Temperature: 77-80F
Diet: Omnivore. Will eat meaty foods, such as blood worms, and tube worms. Vegetables are also part of their diet. Cucumbers or algae disks are good foods.
Level of care: Easy
General Notes: Striped raphaels are nocturnal fish, and are most active in the evenings. Feeding should take place then. They are peaceful comunity fish, but something small enough to fit in its mouth may be eaten at night. These fish have spines all the way down their sides, so it is not reccomended to use a net while catching them because, they may become entangled. A cave or somewhere to hide during daylight hours will help reduce stress on the fish and make it feel secure.

This is a very bizzare looking fish, i bought it because it was different from all the others in my tank, he will stand out in a unique way. Very good build for a tank that needs the bizzare to make it feel unique. Definately worth the purchase.

I bought this little bugger knowing well and full that i would rarely see my 7 dollar fish. However, even though i only catch a small glimpse of him maybe once a month if im lucky as i walk into my room. That little glimpse makes my day. From a man who knows fish have little to no function but to serve as novelties in aquaria.
