These fish are often purchased for their novel kissing action, which is fact is not a sign of affection but a trial of strength between males and a part of a courtship ritual. One of the larger gouramis, this species needs space, but is not belligerent and can be kept with similar sized fish.

excellent fish, very peacefull and calm, but grows quickly, very resilliant at bouncing back from diseases, etc, gives you kisses too
