General Notes: These gouramis are fairly hardy fish. Although the labyrinth organ allows the fish to survive in oxygen depleted water, it is a common misconception that this makes water changes unnecessary. This is hardly the case as these fish will suffer the same tissue damage from built up toxins as any other fish. Regular water changes are a must.

The Honey Gourami has a similar body shape as the Dwarf Gourami, though the Honey Gouramis are slightly compressed and narrower. The dorsal and anal fins are not as large and the thread like ventral fins are extremely sensitive.

A tank with plenty of hiding spots is a must for this timid fish. Dense vegetation, floating plants, and some caves work very well for this fish.

They get their name from their "honey brown" coloring. These gouramis are great for the community aquarium except for breeding time. They breed by a bubble nest (like bettas) and the fry take 12 to 24 hours to hatch and are tiny and first foods should be either liquifry or infusoria.

Pros:	Peaceful nice looking fish
Cons:	Too sensitive? Died a few weeks after I got it

I really liked this little guy, but the fish only lasted a couple of weeks before dying on me. The nitrates may have been too high for this fish to handle. May try again with this breed at a later time.

Pros:	nice coloration; good size for average 30g community tank; interesting behavior
Cons:	can be agressive to other fish; can start dying without a visible reason

I did not have a good chance to enjoy the fish fully because both fish died within 2 or 3 week after I bought them. I spent a lot of money medicating them but could not save them. One died from some kind of "whirling desease" and another died from, my best guess, internal parasites (long clear stringy poop and some bloating).
So, I never regained my confidence in this fish and is not going to buy it myself or recommend to other people. However, this fish potentially has a lot of pluses for a typical tropical community tank. Maybe I was unlucky to get a bad stock.

Pros:	Attractive, peaceful.
Cons:	They just up and die.

I tried several times to keep one of these, but I'm pretty much finished. They really don't last long and when they die, it's without much warning or symptoms.

i have one of these little buggers and hes my favorite, had him for over 8 months and i hope he lives for ever, seems very rugged, and very adaptable

I have had these fish for a couple of weeks now. They are quite hardy after they adapt to the tank. They can be very shy, and just hide out in the plants, but it shouldn't be anything to worry about.
