Description: Compatibility: best kept with other large species, as smaller fish may be eaten.

Temperature: 73-80F
Diet: This carnivore needs a highly varied diet. Will usually accept live foods, bloodworms, earthworms, insects, chopped meat, snails, crustaceans etc
Level of care: moderate
General Notes: This fish has a long knife shaped body, hense the name, knifefish. Brown or black in color and an enlongated anal fin. Large eyes. When young this fish does best in small groups, but becomes intolerant of its own kind as it gets older.
