Lighting Level: Moderate
Placement: Bottom
Difficulty: Moderate
Water Flow: Low to Moderate
Temperament: Aggressive
Endemic Area: Indonesia
Other Info: A LPS species which displays a magnificent display of its color-tipped tentacles. These colors often possess great fluorescence under actinic lighting, usually including pink or purple-tipped polyps but also may include lime green, orange, or blue hues on the tips with branched or round shapes. It is necessary to provide adequate space between it and other corals as it can expand greatly to about twice its usual size during the day. It has the infringing ability to sting other corals and humans. Usual placement is on soft substrate in order to prevent injuring and irritating the fleshy underside. Clownfish are often seen using this coral as its host if no anemones are present. Maintenance of calcium and trace elements are required for its health. It is mainly photosynthetic and may be fed brine shrimp or plankton.
