Description:
|
Lighting Level: Moderate
Placement: Bottom
Difficulty: Moderate
Water Flow: Moderate
Temperament: Aggressive
Endemic Area: Indo-Pacific
Other Info: Its name is derived from the appearance of its hammer-shaped tentacles. Fleshy polyps extend from the skeletal structure night/day. Color variations include brown and green often with lime green or yellow tips which fluoresce. A branched version of this species is often similar to the Torch Coral, E. glabrescens. This coral does not have specific care which is too difficult, as long as its requirements are kept. Due to its aggressive nature, make sure plenty of room is provided from other corals due to its lengthy sweeper tentacles. Once again, calcium and other trace elements are necessary for proper growth. Nutrition is mainly provided by photosynthesis and microplankton and brine shrimp may be taken.
