Other Info: Along with the Finger Leather, these species are different than others in the Alcyoniidae family because of their long, thin, flexible fingers. Colors can include green, tan, gold, and yellow. They are often slippery and slimy to the touch. Their semi-aggressive temperament is due to some species’ ability to produce toxins which may be harmful to other hard corals. Hosted zooxanthellae provide the nutritional needs and may be fed brine shrimp, microplankton, or filter-feeding foods.
