Other info: There are many species in the genus all with variations in shape and color. The coral develops small colonies that are slimy and encrusting. The species may grow quite large and cuts can be propagated. Due to its aggressive nature and potential size, it needs to have more than adequate space from other corals. It also possesses small sweeper tentacles that can have a strong, damaging sting to corals such as Sinularia or Sarcophyton. Nutrition is provided by hosted zooxanthellae and can be fed microplankton, brine shrimp, or filter-feeding foods.
