Other Info: Xenia is characterized by its unique pulsing action. It is unclear exactly what purpose this pulsing serves, however contrary to popular thought a lack of pulsing does not indicate an unhealthy specimen. Xenia is often described as a difficult coral to care for, however it generally thrives in the reef environment. Some keepers experience occasional mass die-out however Xenia will recover quickly. Xenia has been described by some as a weed simply because it is almost impossible to completely eliminate it from an aquarium once introduce.
