Description: Lighting Level: Moderate to High
Placement: Middle to High
Difficulty Level: Easy, good for beginners
Water Flow: Medium to Strong
Temperament: Peaceful
Endemic Area: Indonesia
Other Info: An excellent species for the beginner to avid aquarist. They come in some color variations such as white, brown, or green. Each polyp possesses eight-leaved tentacles like some other of the soft coral species. They are a colonial species that is often encrusting on adjacent rock areas, other corals, or basically any surface available to them. They can be disposed to other aggressive coral species in the tank environment. The major nutritional means is photosynthesis by the hosted zooxanthellae, however, filter feeding foods may be supplemented.

Pros: Colorful, hardy, fast grower
Cons: fast grower, can smother slower growing corals.

Very colorful coral, very easy to frag. It is suggested that this coral absorbs some nutrients from the water.
