Description:
|
Compatibility: Peaceful Community Fish
Maximum Size: 2.5 inches
Minimum Tank Size: 10G
Temperature: 72-82F
Diet: Will accept most flake and pellet foods.
Level of care: Easy
General Notes: An undemanding fish, the Blind Cave Tetra can be readily kept in most tanks. They can be kept in a wider range of temperatures than most other tetras. Blind Cave Tetras use their other senses to find food, and a lot of times they'll run into things or bite. This would probably not be a good fish to put with fancy guppies or bettas, due to their nippy nature.

I bought one of these fish yesterday, i had one when i was a kid, these are very interesting to watch. they have no eye that is visible without study. If you look closely they have two very small dots... those are their eyes, but they don't work so they are blind. I like dropping pellet food into tank and watching him go crazy looking for it... once he finds it he starts spinning and swimming rapidly in circles to get nose into gravel to eat it. I haven't noticed him being aggressive towards any of my fish yet. Don't know if it needs partners as they are blind so i bought one.
