Description:

Compatibility: Peaceful - Simi-Aggressive. Reguarded as peacful, but can get simi - aggressive so care should be taken when stocking. Should be fine in most Malawi tanks of the right volume.

Diet: Carnivore
Level of care: Easy
General Notes: Open sand is needed for this species because it will scoop left over food off the surface of the sand. It is not confined to the rocky areas where other haps might live. As an easy going hap, this would make a very nice edition to most malawi tanks. When mature, its vibrant dark blue and black stand out making for quite a fish to look at. The males generally have more color than the females, and it is a mouthbrooding cichlid.
