General Notes:
The Red Rainbowfish, as with all rainbowfish, is a peaceful community fish. Males develop a deep red coloration, while females display less vivid colors of silvery brown or yellow. Males develop an arched back with age, whereas females tend to remain flat-backed. This species is a schooling speceis and must be kept in groups; 5 individuals is the minimum suggested school size. Single specimens do not fare well and may become stressed to the point of disease as they are a very social fish. If only a few Red Rainbows are kept, the more dominant individuals may harass the more submissive. This problem is eliminated when kept in appropriately sized schools. Red Rainbowfish are avid swimmers and require tanks that are conducive to this trait. Longer tanks are preferred and a minimum of 30g is suggested. Tank mates include any peaceful fish, small or large. Rainbowfish relish live foods but will greatly enjoy flake and frozen foods, as well. It is recommended to occasionally feed vegetable matter to promote variety in the diet and intestinal health.

Colorful fish with typical rainbowfish aspects. They will eat just about anything. Very peaceful fish but are quick eaters and hog most of the food (like other rainbows), so they probably wouldn\'t be good tankmates for slower moving fish.
