Description:
|
Compatibility: Peaceful Community Tank
Maximum Size: 6 inches
Minimum Tank Size: 29G
Temperature: 72-82F
Diet: Omnivore, they enjoy freeze dried plankton or krill and live or frozen bloodworms, will also accept flake food.
Level of care: Moderate
General Notes: The Ghost (or Glass) Catfish, prefers light and open water (they occupy the mid-level of the tank unlike other catfish) but needs an individual territory. They also complement a planted tank. A dark tank bottom is suggested. Needs lots of swimming room and a strong current. Ghost Cats like to be in groups of at least 3...the larger the group, the more secure they feel and wont hide as much. They can be stressed out easily by fast moving more aggressive fish, and therefore are also more susceptible to outbreaks of ich.

Pros:
|
eye candy
|
|
Cons:
|
tough to care for
|
|
these are great fish to own,
but its difficult to find tank mates for them,
and they are very prone to many diseases...
so im constantly watching their water quality and temp...
but their grace and beauty makes up for their
much needed attention...
they look incredible schooling together against the current...
if you want an attractive unique fish, this is it
