This is a good beginner fish and adds color to any aquarium, it is best in groups of 5 or more because they are schooling fish. They are natural prey of angel fish but the angels won\'t eat them until they get huge and some people have told me if you raise the neons with the angels together they won\'t eat them when they do get older (but i doubt it). Also these are really peaceful fish and don\'t bother other fish and have a low bioload.

Neons are the quintessential aquarium fish. Pack 5 into a 10 gallon and you have the start of a basic community. They are colorful, scales lighting blue like stars, and friendly to all tank mates.
You can\'t go wrong with neons.

These are one of the most common tropical fishes for any beginner! I currently have a school of six, which they seem to be at their best in, and they are one of the most wonderful fish - ever!
There vivid colours really shine out, it\'s fun watching them play \'tag\' together (it\'s true, they do it!), and they are so socialized and friendly towards eachother, it\'s like having your own miniture family in a tank!
They\'re curious little things, and it\'s nice to have some hideouts (or plants, which bring out their colours better), for them to chill out in, especially if they are kept with other fish!

Once a neon has adapted to your tank it will live for a long time. I believe they can live up to 20 years with proper care. I just think they're colorful and cute. Really outstanding colors. Great community fish too

These fish can add fun to any aqurium... Although they are fun to watch they are weak swimmers. They are great for the "Fish Newb". They can live for quite a long time... They dont cost much! A school of 5+ will give you the best results... Try a Neon School today, they wont dissapoint!

Death rate is high during introduction. Small size can result in being eaten. Very expensive to buy.

Neon Tetras are not recommended for anyone new to the hobby. They are expensive and hard to care for during the introduction phase. Once they are bought and brought home from the store, there will be some deaths (most likely) within a few days. It takes Neon Tetras longer to adapt to the new environment. Neon Tetras can not be with any fishies that are bigger and capable of swallowing them. You must keep the water condition stable and clean, because Neon Tetras are sensitive to slight changes.

Very pretty fish, but make sure your tank is weel established before adding them. Expect to lose a couple while the rest adjust.

I've never had any luck with these guys ever. But ive heard of others having real success with these guys. Never put these guys with anything even remotely aggressive or they will slowly be picked off. Yur best with a species only tank or little fellas with similar temperment. Black neon, cardinal, green neon tetras. Perhaps little danios, guppies, balloon mollys, dwarf platys, or little corydoras.

These fish are a great additive to almost any aquarium! But please do not place them with fish such as angels or agressors, best do some research on compatability. They are small and arent good with introductions sometimes resulting in a few fatalities, but this is sometimes not the case. They can also be found relatively cheap, search around to find them I get my for 99 cents! and its from a reputable petstore!

Great fish. They swim around the tank like there isn't a care in the world. They are fairly inexpensive, so getting a school of them won't break the bank. Bad thing is, is that they can be come food for other fish, like Angels and large Plecos sucking them up by mistake.
