Description:
|
Compatibility: Peaceful Community Fish
Maximum Size: 12 inches
Minimum Tank Size: 55G
Temperature: 72-82F
Diet: The diet of this fish consists of various greens, cucumber, zuchini, shelled peas, algae wafers and driftwood.
Level of care: Easy
General Notes: Another large pleco, a member of the Panaque family, with distinctive teeth used for grinding. Those teeth are used to grind driftwood, which should be included in the aquarium. The Royal Pleco is a far from active fish, but does grow large and thick. An adult should be kept in a tank no smaller than 55 gallons, preferably larger. Do not expect this pleco to keep your glass clean...it is generally more interested in eating driftwood than algae.
