Description:
|
Compatibility: Semi - Aggressive, will eat anything it can fit into its mouth.
Maximum Size: 22"-4 Feet
Minimum Tank Size: Pond
Temperature: 50-80 F
Diet: Feed them veggies, clean earthworms, sinking pellets, meats, trout feed, and anything else that fits in their mouths.
Level of care: Easy-Moderate
General Notes: These fish are reccommended as a "pond only" fish. They get quite large and can live alone or in small groups, preferably 2-3, with other pondfish, like koi and goldfish. They are native to the united states. The forms of these fish are: common, albino, and blue. They grow fast when small, then taper off. When small, they can triple in size in 1 month. Channel cats reach sexual maturity at about 17 inches but breeding is very rare, and only seasoned catfish breeders have any luck. They are very hardy and will accept a wide variety of water conditions and temperatures.
