Compatibility: Community (may eat smaller tankmates) Maximum Size: 10 in Minimum Tank Size: 75 gallon Temperature: 80-85F Diet: Herbivore Level of care: Difficult General Notes: This is a high-backed laterally compressed cichlid, that in older specimens may show a bulging forehead. The adults are yellowish to brown with a blue-green irridescence. On the lower part of the body there is a large black marking that is somewhat triangular. Provide this fish with soft acidic water as it comes from the same regions as discus in the wild. Give it some large plants, and use rockwork bogwood to provide hiding places. Mainly peaceful but do not keep with small fish as they will be eaten. A very interesting fish and very entertaining.
