Description: Compatibility: Aggressive
Maximum Size: 18 in.
Minimum Tank Size: 75 gallons
Temperature: 75-85F
Diet: Carnivore
Level of care: Difficult
General Notes: The Jaguar cichlid is also known as a Managuense. A very territorial Cichlid with an aggressive temperment that will claim a large portion of the tank for itself. It is also know to attack bottom feeders as well as other fish. This fish is one of the true guatopes and has the mouth too prove it. Jaguars are not a fish for a begginer, they like live food including fish, worms and other insects, and may take cichlid pellets. Only combine jaguars with fish or equal size and make sure the tank is at least 77 gallons for 1 Jaguar and nothing else. There is a gold morph avalible. They also develope psuedocanine teeth and will bite.
